The city welcomed Wildfire Innovations Inc. to South Bear Creek Park on Friday for a demonstration of the RainStream™ mobile equipment, hosted for the Grande Prairie Fire Department and local stakeholders.
The demonstration provided an opportunity to see how the equipment is set up, operated and deployed, helping the department evaluate where it may complement the City’s current inventory.
Following this hands-on experience, the fire department will review its current community risk assessment to determine if this type of equipment is warranted for our fire operations.
This equipment has a wide range of applications, with a primary focus on supporting fire mitigation efforts in communities that have fire hydrants.
Exploring this type of equipment supports the City’s continued focus on community safety and emergency preparedness, while also encouraging the use of innovative technology to enhance our local response capabilities.
