Audrey Marcheta Lenora (née Opfergelt) Hauser
February 20, 1939 – July 18, 2025

With deep sorrow and tender remembrance, the family of Audrey Hauser announces her peaceful passing on July 18, 2025, at Humboldt District Hospital, at the age of 86. She was a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness, strength, and grace will be cherished forever. Audrey was born on February 20, 1939, in Spalding, Saskatchewan, to Walter and Eileen (née Kimball) Opfergelt. The youngest of four, she grew up alongside her brothers Sonny and Jack, and her sister Phyllis, on the family farm nestled northeast of Annaheim, SK. Audrey’s childhood was filled with the determination and simple joys that come from prairie life. She and her siblings made their way to Old Hat Creek School by foot, horseback, or skis, embracing the adventure of the seasons and the closeness of family. The family later moved to Humboldt, SK, marking the start of a new chapter. On January 15, 1958, Audrey married the love of her life, Tony Hauser, at St. Augustine Church. Together, they began their journey on the Hauser family farm near Pilger, SK. In 1963, they built a home east of Pilger and raised five children: Glenn, Colleen, Gail, Ross, and Carla. Audrey spent around 20 years working in the kitchen at Bethany Pioneer Village, where she also made many new friends along the way. In 1995, Audrey and Tony moved to Middle Lake, SK, where they continued to build memories together. After Tony’s passing in 2006, Audrey stayed in their home until 2012, when she moved to the independent living units at Bethany Pioneer Village. In June 2021, she transitioned to Birch Manor at Bethany, where she remained until her passing. Audrey held many titles—mom, wife, grandma, great-grandma, sister, auntie, and friend—and filled each one with quiet strength and loving kindness. She was a gentle soul who always put others before herself yet never failed to bring light and laughter to those around her. Her playful, silly side often shone through at family gatherings, making her a cherished presence. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her heart. Whenever they visited, Audrey’s face would light up, and her suite, proudly adorned with their photos, – ‘because you can never have too many reminders of the ones you love’. Audrey’s legacy is one of deep love, quiet resilience, and joyful spirit. She will be remembered fondly by all who were blessed to know her. Audrey will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by: son, GLENN (Colette) Hauser, and family: Katelyn (Paul) – their son, Hunter-, Simon (Carmen) – their children, Ada and William-, and Kurt (Dillon); daughter, COLLEEN (Jeff) Heidecker, and family: Courtney (Brett) - their children, Cohen, Chase, and Crew-, Jill (Dean) – their children, Noa, Lennon, and Quinn-, and Heather; daughter, GAIL (Dean) Lukan, and family: Jordan, Brianna (Robert), Dylan, and Mackenzie; son, ROSS (Vickie) Hauser, and family, Nathan (Julie) -their daughter, Ivy, Cole (Haley) -their baby girl to be born in August, and Megan (Krestin); daughter, CARLA (Chris) Lysitza, and family: Nicholas (Eve), and Matthew.
