Rainfall amounts varied across southern Manitoba from yesterday through 6 a.m. this morning, according to the Manitoba Ag Weather Network.

Some communities received only light rain, while others saw more significant totals.

Here’s a look at recorded amounts:

  • Portage la Prairie – 10.2 mm
  • Carberry – 7.2 mm
  • Stonewall – 5.4 mm
  • Arborg – 3.7 mm
  • Plumas – 3.5 mm
  • Minnedosa – 2.4 mm
  • Elm Creek – 1.0 mm
  • Brandon – 0.3 mm

25mm = 1 inch

The rainfall offers a welcome break from dry conditions in some areas, particularly where totals reached above 5 mm.

Tuesday brings showers or thunderstorms early, with 10 to 15 mm of rain expected before the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of 21°C, feeling like 27 with humidity.

Wednesday has a 30 percent chance of morning showers and possible thunderstorms, with a high near 23°C.
