There's a number of closures, to both traffic and sidewalks that could have an impact on your commute today.

This includes pair of closure permits on Main Street N.

The first is in effect while building maintenance takes place from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. today near the Hammond Building on the corner of Main and Fairford Street W, impacting the westbound lane and adjacent sidewalk.

The second permit is also for building maintenance, this time on the Mae Wilson Theatre building on the 200 block of Main Street N and will be in effect and potentially impact traffic until September 19.

A temporary closure is in effect on the 900 block of James Street, which will be closed to traffic between 9th and 10th Avenue NW. Local traffic will be allowed, but through traffic will not be possible due to an open excavation. The work is expected to wrap up on Thursday, July 24 at 4 p.m.

Also today is a partial and temporary closure to the road and sidewalk on MacDonald Street. The closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today, affecting the north sidewalk and the westbound parking and driving lanes between Algoma Avenue and 6th Avenue NW. No impact to transit services is expected.

Additional closures will be found on:

  • 700 block of 1st Avenue NE for storm sewer repairs,
  • 900 block of 2nd Avenue NW for pipebursting,
  • 200 block of Lilooet Street E for road repairs,
  • and the 0 and 100 block of Iroquois Street E, also for road repairs.
