There are no injuries after a float plane was discovered upside down on the Winnipeg River on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 2:31 p.m. on July 21, Lac Du Bonnet RCMP received a report that a float plane was discovered upside down in the water.

Officers were told that the pilot had landed the float plane safely, but the right float went under water while taxiing to shore.

The 27-year-old male pilot from Snow Lake was the sole occupant. He was able to escape the plane just before it tipped upside down in the water.

There were no injuries reported.

Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been advised and Lac Du Bonnet RCMP are assisting with the investigation.

The investigation continues.
