Portage la Prairie RCMP are investigating a serious stabbing that occurred at a residence in Langruth, late on July 20.
Officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing on Broadway Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 36-year-old male from Sandy Bay First Nation with life-threatening injuries.
The victim was attended to by Emergency Medical Services and airlifted by STARS to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
A 30-year-old female from Winnipeg was held at the scene by Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers and then arrested by the RCMP without further incident. She has been charged with aggravated assault.
Portage la Prairie RCMP are working alongside Forensic Investigative Services to continue the investigation into this serious incident.
Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
