Strathmore Seed is helping the Wheatland County Food Bank one drive at a time.
The Holes for Hunger golf tournament was held at the Strathmore Golf Club earlier this month, with every dollar raised going towards the food bank.
Kim Grant, team lead of finance at Strathmore Seed, said this was the second year that the group had hosted the charity fundraiser.
"We had an excellent year. We had 104 golfers and 21 major sponsors," said Grant. "It was an amazing turnout in support of the event. It was a good day with good weather, so everything went fairly smoothly."
In total, Holes for Hunger raised $20,457.90 for the food bank, around $2,000 more than was raised in the event's inaugural year.

"We did things a little bit differently this year. We reduced our number of golfers but added major sponsors, which allowed us to do more with less," added Grant. "After the first year, there were some growing pains, we saw what worked and didn't, and we made some changes."
The previous year's proceeds were given to the Wheatland Hospice Society, with Grant speaking about what inspired them to donate back to the community.
"The food bank is such a mainstay in the county. It's something that's really needed this year. Everyone is feeling the crunch."
Strathmore Seed also supports several other organizations, including the Lions Club, 4-H, and local sports teams.
