Villa Youville launched the annual Scooter Parade through the streets of Ste. Anne.
After a rainy day on Tuesday, the scooter parade was rescheduled, bringing balloons and music into the sunshine of Thursday.
Residents and staff of Villa Youville, as well as the Phoenix cheer squad, prepared for the parade with pom-poms in hand.
While decorated scooters and trailer floats took off, senior residents sat at the edge of the lawn, eager to catch candy and a show.
Joanne Levesque with Villa Youville says that this is an event the residents look forward to every year.
“The seniors look so forward to this. I have close to 8 students every year that come, and they help decorate, and we make it fun for them.”
Levesque says that this event brings together the residents and the community.
“Every year we decorate our scooters, and we get our seniors involved, and we go around town, and we involve all the daycares, we involve like all the community.”

Levesque says that planning the event is all about communication and putting themselves out there.
Levesque thanks everyone who watched, as well as the team she has working at the Villa.
“It's so fantastic. Like words can't say. I've been here for 30 years, and it's just amazing. Like I can't say enough, how our team here at the Villa is amazing.”
