The Ride Like a Mother barrel racing series is coming to Hanover Ag’s exhibition grounds every Thursday for 2 more weeks.

The event is open for everyone and is hosted by two local mothers with a passion for barrel racing, Alisha Froese and Carollyne Kehler.

Kehler says this event is all about bringing the barrel racing community together.

“It's all about getting the community together and all age groups of riders and barrel racers. We welcome everyone to come and ride. Obviously, we're competing at barrel racing, but it’s open to anyone who wants to give it a shot.”

Ride Like a Mother has Pewee, Youth, Select, and Open categories in their Thursday jackpots. Kehler says this is a great way for people to learn.

“It's a great place to learn because it's very chill. It's not a late night, and you know we're open if you have questions to come and ask.”

Froese says that this has been one of the best turnouts they have had, and tons of younger riders are getting involved.

“It's really exciting to see. We have a ton of Peewee and Youth here today, so it's fun to see the younger crowd getting into it.”

Spectators are welcome to show up and watch some amazing barrel racing at the grounds.
