Nothing like some sizzling smokies, a bountiful bake table and some great hospitality to bring a community together.
That was the scene on Thursday, July 24 at Futuristic Industries with their annual barbecue and bake sale. Friends gathered in the shop which was all repurposed for the huge crowd of noon hour diners who stopped by.
Dozens and dozens of delicious baked goods, from muffins to pies, cakes to tarts were laid out on the tables as a takeaway or an after-lunch dessert.
To add to the fun this year, Director Ray Whitton was on the spot taking pies to the face from raffle winners who paid for the privilege. The occasional dignitary stepped up to the mound, including Futuristic board chair Kevin Grieman who gleefully planted a pie.
Of course, there is always the hospitality of the staff and work crew at Futuristic who are happy to engage with the community on any occasion. Thanks to the cooks and servers for your work, and to all who attended to support the fundraiser.
