The 2025 Infrastructure Renewal Program has reached week 12 and work continues replacing approximately 1.4 kilometres of cast iron pipe and 700 metres of feeder main at various locations across the city.
Work is ongoing on the 200 and 300 blocks of Fairford Street W, and the 100 block of Fairford Street W is currently open to local traffic only. As work continues, the intersections at 2nd and 3rd Avenue NW will remain closed to traffic. Lane restrictions will be in place at the intersection of 4th Avenue NW and Fairford Street until July 31, when a full closure comes into effect.
Progress is being made on South Hill, with work still underway on Coteau Street W from 4th Avenue Sw to 5th Avenue SW and closures are still in place at the 4th and 5th Avenue SW intersections.
Additional closures will come into effect August 1, at the intersections of Coteau Street W and 6th and 7th Avenue SW. From that point Coteau Street W will be closed from the 400 to 700 block.
Bus stops on the north side of Coteau Street W will also be closed between 4th Avenue SW and 7th Avenue SW for Route #4 Westmount at that time. Signage posted at bus stops will direct transit users to the nearest available stop.
