A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of Madisson Cobb, a 23-year-old Okotoks woman who was shot and killed in Calgary last weekend.
Cobb was found dead in a southwest Calgary parkade on July 19. Two days later, Calgary police arrested 26-year-old Devon Bradley Malik at a nearby Super 8 motel. He has since been charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Malik was Cobb’s ex-boyfriend.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Cobb family to help cover the funeral costs and related expenses, including counselling for family and friends.
"It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a village to heal after losing one," the GoFundMe page reads. "Maddy will forever be loved and never forgotten."
They are hoping to raise $30,000, and after two days, they have raised almost $4,000.
"Every little bit helps, and I know that together we can ease some of the financial burdens the Cobb family is facing."
All proceeds from this fundraising will go directly to the Cobb family.
