All of the minor ball tournaments are done for the year, but Softball Saskatchewan still has a pair of adult tournaments on this weekend. Both the Men's and Women's "Open" provincials are on, with two local teams competing on the men's side, and one team in the women's draw.

Beginning with the UK Royals in the Women's Open, the Unity based team is one of eight set to compete in Moose Jaw starting Friday at 4:00. The Royals first game is at 6:00 tonight against the Saskatoon Lunar Eclipse, and then their round robin schedule continues Saturday at 12:30 against the Earl Grey Heat and then 5:30 versus the host Moose Jaw Strikers.

The top two finishers out of each pool will earn a spot in Sunday's playoffs.

The Men's Open is a 16-team tournament taking place in Saskatoon, with the Delisle Diamond Dogs and Conquest Capitals competing for local teams. Delisle is in the Black Pool while Conquest is part of the Silver Pool, each team set to play three round robin games in attempt to qualify for Sunday's playoff round.

Delisle's first game was at 9:30 AM on Friday morning, a 13-4 win over the Saskatoon Padres. They won't play until Saturday at 11:00 AM against Gordon's Golden Hawks, back on the diamond at 7:00 PM taking on the Dry Creek Penguins.

Conquest took the diamond at 11:00 AM for their first game against Bruno and have another early day Saturday taking on the Grenfell Gems at 9:30 for their second game, and then at 5:30 their prelim games will end with a matchup against The Rez.

Good luck to all of the teams in action this weekend.

Minor softball might be over, but there is still one week left of minor baseball provincials around the province. Check out this week's OSY Rentals Ball Report below for more on tournaments in Kindersley and Unity this weekend, and to see where the rest of the action is taking local teams.
