The Louise Bridge closure has been extended again, and isn't supposed to open at all this summer.
The closure of the bridge was originally supposed to be four days, and was set to reopen on May 26 before unexpected delays. that caused the closure to be extended.
The bridge was set to reopen at the end of July.
The City shared in a news release, "In the course of completing the corrosion repairs, we discovered additional defects on the bridge. These will require additional time to fix."
While the City understands the frustration of Winnipeggers, it asks for patience until the bridge is completed.
The bridge remains open to pedestrians and cyclists; however, access may be reduced to accommodate work.
"We encourage drivers to allow additional travel time and plan alternate routes, such as the Disraeli Bridge or Provencher Bridge," the City said in a news release.
The bridge is now anticipated to open in early September.
