A single-vehicle crash on Saturday evening sent first responders to a rural road west of Austin, but fortunately, no major injuries are reported.
Austin Fire Department was dispatched at 6:50 p.m. on July 26 to Road 59N and 62W, after a report of a pickup truck possibly smoking in the ditch.
When firefighters arrived, they found a pickup truck that had left the road and struck a tree head-on in the south ditch.

Two people from the truck were already out and standing on the road. The fire department notes both appeared shaken but were not seriously hurt. Both front airbags had deployed.
EMS arrived shortly after, and paramedics assessed both the driver and passenger at the scene.
Austin Fire says the scene was turned over to EMS and RCMP.
No further updates have been issued at this time.
Additionally, just after noon on Friday, July 25, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a grass fire along the Trans-Canada Highway, to the west of Road 64 W.
The grass fire was caused by a semi-trailer which had caught fire.
Two crews were dispatched, as Alpha 1 contained the fire at the trailer, and Alpha 2 fought the blaze back from the railroad tracks.
Thankfully, crews were able to bring both fires under control and extinguish them quickly, and no injuries were reported.
