The biggest weekend in Strathmore is about to hit.

The Strathmore Stampede long weekend brings in thousands of people from across Alberta and the country, with the Strathmore Stampede Parade taking place on Saturday morning.

Rocket Grid Marketing is organizing the parade, with close to 100 floats registering to take part.

This year, money prizes will be introduced for the top three best floats. First place wins $1,000, second place will get $500, and third place receives $250.

Local musician Drew Gregory will be serving as this year's parade marshal.

Business development manager for Rocket Grid, Cody Holdaway, is looking forward to the parade.

"We're just super excited to get back in the community and plan the Strathmore Stampede parade. I'm excited to see everyone fill the streets to support local and love local."

Businesses and organizations can register a float up until parade day.
