Today, we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Jean-Guy Ovila Allaire, a man whose laughter and love filled every room he entered. Born on June 20, 1941, Jean-Guy graced this world for 84 unforgettable years, and while we mourn his passing on July 26, 2025, we also cherish the incredible legacy he leaves behind.
Jean-Guy was not just a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he was the heart of his family. A caring soul with a penchant for humor, he was a jokester whose wit brought joy to everyone he met. His ability to find the right words when needed and provide solutions in times of trouble made him a beacon of support for all of us.
He had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did—from his love of antique collecting to his enthusiasm for guns, he approached his interests with the same curiosity and excitement he had for his family. Those camping trips and fishing outings with his children are cherished memories, filled with laughter and his hilarious stories that seemed to get funnier with each retelling.
His grandchildren remember him fondly as the grandpa who always had the coolest toys, someone who would go out of his way to bring them joy. The twinkle in his eye when he surprised them with gifts was priceless, and his knack for finding ways to keep them entertained was unmatched. And let us not forget his great-grandchildren, who were the lucky recipients of his sneaky treats and endless snuggles. To them, he was a gentle giant, a loving presence who made each moment special.
Jean-Guy was not just a family man; he was a friend to many. His helping hand was always extended, and his kindness knew no bounds. He had an innate ability to connect with people and a heart that welcomed everyone. His laughter—oh, how we will miss that joyful sound!—often ended conversations with a light-hearted sprinkle of funny French profanity that left us all in stitches.
As we reflect on Jean-Guy's life, let us remember the love he shared and the laughter he brought into our lives. His spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the memories we cherish, and the love we continue to share as a family. Though he may no longer be with us in body, he will forever remain in our hearts.
Thank you, Jean-Guy, for the beautiful moments, the joy, and the love. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear dad
