The provincial government announced roughly $2.49 million in charitable gaming grants for the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year on Tuesday morning. The grants are paid out by Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan to groups and organizations that are in good standing and host licensed charitable gaming activities, such as bingos, raffles, and 50/50 draws. The grants are equal to 25 per cent of the net revenue raised by the event.

Here in the southeast corner of the province, there were a total of $119,000 grants paid out. This includes $6,146,34 to the Weyburn and District Junior Hockey Association, $3,184 to the Little Discoveries Early Learning Co-Operative in Weyburn, and $1,509.01 to the Khedive Heritage Recreation Club.

“Our government is committed to delivering for Saskatchewan communities and one of the ways we do that is through charitable gaming grants,” Minister Responsible for LGS Jeremy Harrison said in a written release. “Proceeds from gaming in Saskatchewan support charitable organizations and activities across the province, including the arts, culture and sport, hospital foundations, service clubs and more.”

The amount of each grant paid by LGS to each charity is calculated by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority. The calculations are based on financial reports and other information submitted by the organization.
