Fabian James Paydli
October 11, 1938 – July 28, 2025

The death of Fabian James Paydli of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was 86 years of age. Fabian was born on October 11, 1938, in Bruno, SK, the eldest of six children, to Joseph and Isabelle (née Lang) Paydli. Raised on the family farm nestled six miles northeast of Bruno, Fabian's early years were shaped by prairie skies, hard work, and deep-rooted family values. As a young man, he ventured to Drayton Valley, Alberta, where he worked in the oil patch before returning home to farm alongside his brother Marcel. Eventually, he established his own homestead five miles northwest of Fulda, SK, settling on what was then known as the Sehick Farm. On July 14, 1960, Fabian married the love of his life, Marcella (Marci) Frank. In 1966, they moved one mile west to the Frank family farm, following Marci’s parents’ relocation to Humboldt. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and community, raising three children: Barry, Kevin, and Nicole. In the fall of 1986, Fabian and Marci moved to Humboldt, where Fabian worked as a school bus driver—earning the appreciation of many families through his reliability and friendly demeanor. The couple loved to travel, sharing joyful experiences in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Hawaii, Mexico, and aboard a Panama Canal cruise. On July 4, 2025, Fabian and Marci celebrated 65 years of marriage, surrounded by the family and friends who meant so much to them. Fabian’s passions included fishing, golf, and curling, all of which he enjoyed with great enthusiasm and camaraderie. Fabian will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Marcella; children: Barry (Deb), Kevin (Liz), and Nicole (Mike); grandchildren: Tara, Morgan, Tyler, Kalving, and DeeJay; great-grandchildren; siblings: Marcel (Erna), Eyvette (Henry) Hauber, Dorian (Elaine), and Glenda (Morris) Pidlinsy; sisters-in-law: Colette (Pat), and Dolores Hauber; brother-in-law, Wayne Kalthoff; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Linda (Ralph) Kiefer; sisters-in-law: Caroline Kalthoff and Detti Paydli; and brother-in-law, Dave Hauber. Fabian’s life was a testament to dedication, resilience, and quiet kindness. His legacy lives on through the laughter, love, and stories shared by all who knew him.
