Four people are facing charges after two teens escaped from the Manitoba Youth Centre.
Winnipeg police say shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, two 16-year-old youths managed to get outside of the Youth Centre on Doncaster Street by finding a way through the building's exterior.
Two females aged 17 and 18 were waiting in a nearby vehicle to help the pair escape and flee from the area.
Hours later, just before midnight, the Major Crimes Unit, along with the Tactical Support Team, located three of the suspects in a residence in the 300 block of Flora Avenue. The two escapees attempted to flee and were arrested after a short foot pursuit. The 18-year-old female was also arrested without incident.
The following day, officers located and arrested the 17-year-old girl in a home in the 100 block of North Point Boulevard.
The two 16-year-old boys have been charged with escaping lawful custody. They both remain in custody.
The two teenage girls are also facing charges. They were both released on an Undertaking.
