Eatonia's Dakota Buttar is still on top of the PBR Canada standings as we head into August, but he's not the only West Central Sasktchewan bull rider in the standings, after Leader's Grady Young logged two appearances to end July.
After making it into the money at the Calgary Stampede, Young competed at the Czar Lake Bullarama on July 18 and placed fifth, picking up 18 points and $580.24 in his first PBR Canada event of the year. Young also competed in North Battleford last Thursday at the McDonald's Colby Cave Memorial PBR Classic, where he was bucked off.
Buttar on the other hand competed at the PBR Okanagan Challenge directly after the Calgary Stampede. Unable to pick up points at the cup series event, Buttar was also at the Colby Cave event in North Battleford where he took a third-place finish and 23 points, and $1921.87 in winnings. After that Buttar took a Saturday ride at the Lacombe Pro Bull Riding show where he was bucked off.
Entering August, Buttar still has a 144-point lead on second place Jake Gardner. Young is tied at #40 after only two events.
