Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Peace Country as daytime temperatures are expected to reach near 30°C, with overnight lows between 14°C and 18°C.

The heat wave will start today and continue through the week, ending sometime this weekend when temperatures are expected to return to the mid-20s.

Residents and visitors are urged to take precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat, and never leaving children or pets in vehicles.

Vulnerable individuals such as seniors, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions are especially at risk of heat-related illness.
