Winnipeggers looking to keep busy this summer have plenty of fun activities to choose from.
On Wednesday, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy announced its line-up of music, movies, wellness and art, all part of the park's Summer Entertainment Series.
"Summer is an incredible time to come to the Park with family and friends and enjoy free outdoor entertainment," said Lindsay Hughes, Digital & Social Media Specialist, Assiniboine Park Conservancy. "Relax with a movie night, get moving with Wellness Wednesdays, or take in one of our great live concerts across the Park – there’s no shortage of excitement here, and we invite everyone to come and check it out."
Throughout August, Winnipeggers can stop by Assiniboine Park at 6 p.m. and take part in Wellness Wednesday. It will include moving, guided yoga and strength classes at the Lyric Stage. The first Wellness Wednesday will take place on August 6.
Families can also enjoy movies at the park with a variety of family-friendly features, including The Lion King, Inside Out 2 and Wild Robot, being played every Friday evening during August.
Each Friday, there will be two movies, one with a 6:30 p.m. start time, the other with an 8:45 p.m. start time. The Lyric Theatre concession will also be serving popcorn, ice cream treats, and other tasty snacks.
The August line-up for the Summer Entertainment Series also includes free access to art exhibitions at The Pavilion, Jazz at the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, and the Summer Concert Series at the Lyric Theatre.
