Steady progress continues to be made on the HWY-2 over Trans-Canada HWY-1 overpass project here in Moose Jaw.

The Ministry of Highways reports that, over the past month, construction of new concrete abutments and piers to support girders for the new northbound bridge has been completed.

Bridge girder installation has also been completed since the last update, allowing for the ongoing construction of the northbound bridge's deck to proceed.

Crews also continue to construct new highway on-and-off-ramps and a route for over-dimensional loads only has been established around the project site with signage denoting the new route.

Two-way traffic continues on the southbound bridge for HWY-2 users, as is traffic on HWY-1 underneath the bridges. Exit ramp traffic will continue to be detoured as needed.

The project is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2026, weather permitting, and will raise the pair of bridges from 4.5 metres to a new height of 5.3 metres.
