Tom Dimitroff purchased the winning $1 million LOTTO 6/49 ticket just North of the Foothills in the Calgary community of Seton.
Dimitroff checked his numbers on the WCLC’s website and was thrilled to see he won in the July 12 draw.
“I was pretty pleased,” he said.
Adding, his wife didn’t believe he won, until he showed her.
With the windfall, Dimitroff has plans to help his family.
“I have a granddaughter with special needs. I’m going to be able to pay for some support for her and set her up with housing,” he said. “It’s wonderful to tell my family that I can take care of them. I get choked up thinking about it.”
The winning ticket was purchased from Petro Canada located at 818-19489 Seton Crescent SE in Calgary.
