The Moose Jaw Miller Express scored 10 unanswered runs in an 11-8 win over the Weyburn Beavers on Thursday night at Ross Wells Park.
Weyburn opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first, Andy Rivas hit a sacrifice fly to centre field to score William Edwards.
The Beavers extended their lead to 8-1 with one run in the second inning and two runs each in the third and fourth.
Moose Jaw got back on the board in the bottom of the fifth with Austin Gurney hitting a solo home run.
The Miller Express added five more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Tanner DeGrazia hit a solo home run, followed by Thomas Soto hitting a single to drive in Pacey Phillips. Edwards singled to bring home Soto and Ben Waliczek, and Gurney doubled to score Edwards.
In the bottom of the seventh, Moose Jaw took a 9-8 lead with a pair of runs. DeGrazia scored on a wild pitch and Abe Ahlberg scored on a single from Soto.
Moose Jaw rounded out the scoring in the bottom of the eighth with Eduardo Saenz hitting a two-run home run.
The Miller Express are back in action when they host the Swift Current 57s tonight at Ross Wells Park starting at 7:05 p.m. Both teams return to the field Saturday at Ross Wells Park, with game time also at 7:05 p.m. Moose Jaw then wraps up the regular season in Swift Current on Sunday and in Regina on Monday to face the Red Sox.
