Environment Canada issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Foothills County today (Aug. 4) at 2:27 p.m.
Meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing nickel to ping pong ball-sized hail and heavy rain.
The Warning has been issued for the following areas:
- Foothills Co. near Diamond Valley
- Foothills Co. near Okotoks and De Winton
- Foothills Co. near Priddis and Brown-Lowery Prov. Park
- Foothills Co. near Priddis and Brown-Lowery Prov. Park
Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and reductions in visibility. Large hail could cause significant damage and injury.
Meanwhile, Severe Thunderstorm Watches have been issued for the following regions:

- M.D. of Pincher Creek near Cowley, Burmis, and Maycroft
- M.D. of Willow Creek near Granum and Peigan Timber Limit
