Academy Road reopens following Friday morning fire

Update: Traffic is now open eastbound and westbound on Academy Road.

Crews remain on the scene.

A section of Academy Road is currently closed due to a fire.

The Winnipeg Police Service posted on Facebook, saying, "Due to an active fire, the 100 block of Academy Road is currently closed both directions."

Harrow Street and Stafford Street are also currently closed in both directions.

Emergency crews are on scene.

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. 

There is no word on the cause of the fire or if there are any injuries.
