Richer Rodeo is a favourite event for many in the southeast, and the event continues to grow.
Committee Board member, Mark Lanouette Junior, says he and all the volunteers are excited about putting this on.
“To do this for our community to do this for the southeast, just to promote the Ag industry, just to promote farming, promote people coming out enjoying the trading post, all the food vendors, we have the social for the kids at night and maybe for some of the grown-ups, and then, of course, the rodeo. It's just overwhelming at times with the amount of people we end up getting.”
As the event has grown over the years, volunteers feel good hearing about the crowd's positive experiences.
“We always, you know, anticipate that we'll have a good crowd. But it always seems to surpass what we think is coming, so it's always exciting and at the end of the day, it just becomes easier to do it again next year.”
Lanouette recalls that even the first rodeo had a large crowd, but thanks to word of mouth, the event has taken off.

With community members leaving happy, the word has spread about their experiences at the Richer Rodeo.
“It's a wonderful thing., The word of mouth, the good experience, and obviously the weather. We've had great weather just about every year. I don't know how we keep getting away with that, but we'll take it.”
At the rodeo, you can enjoy a family fun zone, bullnanza, socials, mechanical bulls, petting zoos, mutton busting, beer gardens, and so much more.
The funds raised from the rodeo every year go towards next year's event and into the community.
The event is not over yet, as the rodeo and concert continue tonight, followed by Sunday, packed full of family fun, rodeo entertainment, and much more.
