The Moose Jaw Fire Department was called to an apartment fire in the 600 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast on Sunday night.
Fire crews were called to the blaze just before 7:30 p.m. Three apparatuses and nine firefighters attended the scene.
Firefighters found smoke coming from a unit on the third floor of the apartment building. The fire was extinguished quickly and, according to a social media post by the Moose Jaw Professional Firefighters Association, the third floor suffered from heavy smoke damage.
The fire department says there were no occupants in the apartment unit at the time, and no injuries were reported. However, fire crews were able to rescue two cats from the fire.
Fire crews were on the scene until about 10 p.m.
The fire is currently under investigation.
