On August 3rd at approximately 9:50 p.m., members of the Morden Police Service took notice of a vehicle that was known to them from a previous incident.
Inspector Sean Aune said that upon doing further checks on the vehicle, officers determined that it had been reported stolen.
As a result, the three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.
Charges laid
Inspector Aune said that all three individuals have been charged with Possession of goods obtained by crime over $5,000.
According to the inspector, there was also “some drug paraphernalia” found on the 28-year-old female who was a part of the trio, but there are no drug-related charges connected to the incident.
“She was held in custody and later released on a release order in the amount of $1,000,” said Inspector Aune.
Others involved
The inspector said that the other occupants in the vehicle were a 58-year-old male who was in the front passenger seat and a 31-year-old male in the rear passenger seat.
“They were both subsequently arrested, and they were both also released with future court dates,” he said.
‘It’s too bad’
Inspector Aune said that the latest vehicle theft instance is a part of a pattern that the Morden Police Service has seen develop lately.
“It's too bad that it's not really a file that sticks out anymore,” he said. “We seem to come across more stolen vehicles, and usually some sort of drug paraphernalia [is] attached to the files as well.”

Inspector Aune reminds the public to secure their vehicles and be aware of their surroundings.
“There are people that are out there just looking for an opportunity to take things that don't belong to them,” he said.
He also praises the work of the officers involved, whose attention to detail resulted in uncovering the stolen vehicle.
