It was an up and down day yesterday for Team Sask Men's Baseball at the Canada Summer Games in St. John's. The squad started their double day with a 10-6 victory over Quebec, followed up by a 10-2 loss to Ontario.

In the opening game, following a early run by Quebec, Saskatchewan took control with 8 runs in the bottom of the second to set the pace. Two of those run happened on a single error, and despite an effort by Quebec, there was no coming back.

Mitchell Rauckman started on the mound for Team Sask allowing six hits while producing four strike outs and one walk. The East Central Red Sox Pryor Dyck stepped on the bump for Team Sask to hold the line and wrap int up.

Josh Gutek and Reid Olfert led at the plate, each driving in a pair of runs in the outing. In the second game, Team Sask outhit Ontario 9 to 5 but were stymied by Ontario defence and held to a single run in the first and third innings.

Sask hitters Aidan Marien and Dylan Pura led the charge at the plate for the Sask squad.

Saskatchewan will try to right things with a final game in pool play today against BC before a day off on Wednesday.
