1 person in stable condition after being pulled from the Red River Thursday evening

A swift response from Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews saved a person from the Red River late Thursday night.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the Red River, near the Redwood Bridge, shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday. 

When crews arrived, they quickly located the individual and brought them to shore using a boat. 

The individual was assessed at the scene by paramedics and transported to hospital in stable condition. 

There is no update on how the person ended up in the water or how long they were in there. 

The investigation is ongoing.
