Dead Prairies Productions is gearing up for a busy schedule of events.

September will see the local film company running a few different shows and venues, raising money for both a local venue and the Swift Current SPCA.

Devon Oman, president of Dead Prairies Productions, has already sold out of tickets for his upcoming film premiere of The Silver Scream. The 17th DPP film will be shown at The Lyric Theatre in Swift Current on September 6th.

"We are currently sold out, but we have a waiting list in case there are any cancellations for people who can't make it," said Oman. "It's gonna be a big crowd. It's gonna be the biggest crowd we've had since our first movie, I think."

The next event coming up is a concert featuring both Tombstone Whiskey and Birthday Cake Trebuchet at Prairie Flint in Swift Current. While this event won't have proceeds going to the SPCA, due to it being free, Oman is hopeful that people will help support the venue. This will also be on September 6.

"It's totally free (the concert)," said Oman. "Come by the store, and show her some support! She sells vinyl records and other retro vintage stuff."

There will be DPP merchandise for sale at the concert, and the proceeds from those items will be going to the SPCA.

Finally, on September 12, people can head to Gull Lake for a double-feature horror movie night at the SWT Lyceum Theatre. This evening will see both a new film and a classic as both Weapons and Pet Cemetery will be shown.

"It's only $10.00 for two movies," shared Oman. "So it's a bargain deal."

The SWT Lyceum Theatre recently completed renovations and is all set for a fun evening of screams, shouts, and terror. Proceeds from this event will be going back into the SWT Lyceum Theatre, with any DPP merchandise going back into the SPCA.

"Even though two events are not right designated for SPCA, I'm still going to help them out," said Oman.

Anyone interested in partnering with Oman, or who would like to inquire about a film project, can reach out to him on social media.
