Saskatchewan residents and visitors have several opportunities to enjoy the province’s parks over the next two weeks, with events ranging from art festivals and vintage RV shows to outdoor movies and guided hikes.
Douglas Provincial Park will host the Vintage RV & Boat Show from August 22 to 23. The weekend includes Friday evening bingo and a chance to paint a vintage RV, followed by a full day of activities for all ages on Saturday, ending with live music at the picnic shelter.
Art enthusiasts can attend the Cabin Fever Art Festival at Moose Mountain Provincial Park on August 23. Visitors can explore the historic Artist Colony cabins, browse an artist market, join workshops and enjoy an evening concert featuring Justin LaBrash.
Saskatchewan Parks Summer Cinema continues at select parks, with outdoor movie nights accompanied by hands-on crafts and activities led by Park Interpreters. Upcoming screenings include The Wild Robot at Makwa Lake Provincial Park on August 23, Despicable Me 4 at The Battlefords Provincial Park on August 30, and Moana 2 at Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park on September 6.
Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park will host “A Night in Italy” on September 6 and 7, featuring a farm-to-table dinner at Lakeview Grill. Candle Lake Provincial Park will offer a guided hike along the six-kilometre Old Baldy Trail on September 13, highlighting local flora, fauna and scenic wetlands.
