The 8-1 Saskatchewan Roughriders will have a chance to exact revenge on the only team to beat them so far this season when they take on the 6-3 Calgary Stampeders on Saturday night to close out Week 12 in the CFL.
Back on July 12, the Stampeders handed the Roughriders a 24-10 loss in what was a postponed game from the day before. Poor air quality caused by smoke forced the teams, and fans, to wait around Mosaic Stadium until past 11:00 PM before the game was officially moved to the next day.
As the home team back in July the Roughriders benefitted from being able to sleep in their own bed, the Stampeders not as lucky. The postponed game was the same weekend as Country Thunder Saskatchewan down the road in Craven, and as a result of the music festival, hotels were so overbooked that Friday night that a majority of the Stampeders road contingent had to stay in dorms at the local University.
As you can see below, after that game we spoke to Roughriders offensive lineman Logan Ferland who was quick to give Calgary credit for overcoming the tough situation. He also pointed out sleep isn't everything, as it can't be a coincidence that the Roughriders worst game of the season came a day later than it was expected to be played.

Any lingering questions from that game will be answered tonight when the Riders pay a visit to McMahon Stadium in Calgary.
The Riders enter the game having played some very inspired football as of late, winners of four straight with especially dominant performances the last two times out as the Roughriders defense has not allowed a touchdown in their last eight quarters played.
Calgary is coming off a bye week, and a 28-27 win against Winnipeg their last time out August 9. They did not have first overall pick rookie receiver Damien Alford against Winnipeg, but the 6'6 Canadian born receiver will be back at the disposal of QB Vernon Adams Jr. on Saturday.
The Roughriders will bring virtually the same lineup that has dominated the last two games. The defense as mentioned has been nails as of late, keeping the points against low for an offense that has been rolling behind quarterback Trevor Harris and a stable of consistently producing receivers.
A win for Calgary would move them within two points of the CFL best Roughriders, though instead Saskatchewan will be looking for extra separation when the Showdown in Cowtown kicks off at 5:00 PM on Saturday.
