Brooks RCMP have identified the human remains that were discovered on Wednesday (Aug. 20).
According to police, the deceased was identified as 20-year-old Fatima Ahmed, a Brooks resident who was reported missing on Aug. 15.
An autopsy was performed on Friday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the cause of death is pending.
Police say the investigation into Ahmed's death continues.
