A Special Weather Statement has been issued for most of Alberta, due to the high temperatures forecasted over the next seven days.

According to Environment Canada, daytime temperatures are expected to be between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius, beginning today, for central and northern Alberta.

Those temperatures are expected to expand and include parts of southern Alberta, beginning Monday.

While the overnight low temperatures will range between 9 and 13 degrees, allowing for some relief from the heat, this increased temperature is expected to last between five and seven days, which has caused some concern that the heat could build up over time.

Extreme heat can affect everyone and their health, so watch for signs of heat exhaustion in everyone, including yourself.

Signs to watch for include a headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine, and intense fatigue.

These heat warnings may expand as events unfold.
