There is plenty to be on the lookout for this morning on the streets of Moose Jaw.
The signage and traffic cones went up over the weekend and work will be beginning on a major overhaul of the 2nd Avenue NE and Manitoba Street E intersection. The Signalized Intersection Rehabilitation will include updates to physical infrastructure and electronics, as well as a geometrical redesign to both vehicular and pedestrian movements.
The project is expected to be completed by October of this year.
Today also marks the beginning of the Paved Roadways and Sidewalks Project moving on to 9th Avenue NW.
Several closure permits are active this week, including at 428 Main Street N from August 24 to 27 for service line replacement, as well as at 52 Aster Crescent, from August 25 to 28, also for service line replacement.
On the public works side of things, pipebursting will continue on the 300 block of Grandview Street W and the 200 block of Oxford Street W. Road repairs also began on the 1100 block of Grace Street and the 1000 block of Brown Street this morning.
In addition to the above closures, the 100 and 200 blocks of Fairford Street W are now open. The 600 through 700 blocks of Coteau Street W are also expected to reopen by Friday, Aug. 29, weather permitting.
