The 2025 edition of the Canada Summer Games wrapped up on Sunday in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
In the end, Saskatchewan finished sixth in the medal standings with 48 medals in total with 13 gold, 14 silver 21 bronze.
One of those bronze medals was courtesy of the Women’s Volleyball team including Lanigan’s Reese Stroeder.
After dropping their semifinal matchup against Ontario on Saturday 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 24-26, 26-24), Saskatchewan came back to defeat Manitoba in the bronze medal game 3-2 (25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-11).
On the diamond, Saskatchewan’s Women’s Baseball finished in 5th place. They were eliminated from medal contention on Saturday morning following a 9-1 loss to Ontario.
With the loss, Saskatchewan met Quebec in the 5th/6th place game on Saturday, with Saskatchewan prevailing 12-7.
Humboldt’s Camden Suchan was a part of Team Saskatchewan.
Sunday marked the closing ceremonies with 3x gold medalist in Diving Lila Stewart and 2x gold medalist in Para Athletics Brendan Cote-Williamson leading Saskatchewan as the province’s flag bearers.
With the Summer Games now closed, the focus will turn to the 2027 Canada Winter Games which will be held in Quebec City from February 27-March 14, 2027.
