The Strathmore Pride crosswalk was repainted over the weekend as part of the Strathmore Pride Community's annual party.

This is the third year that the event has been hosted, with dozens of residents heading to the Strathmore Municipal Building to take part in the event.

The paint was donated by the local Kal Tire, with pizza being brought to the event by the Strathmore Domino's.

"I feel like it worked out really magically," said cochair Becca McDonald. "We got together a few times, and it would be fun to get together with more people for more events."

Residents also wrote on the sidewalk with chalk while enjoying some music and conversation. The event ran for several hours, with the Pride community helping residents cool off with free water bottles.

"It's a good visual sign that there is inclusiveness in Strathmore. I think it would be awesome to have the progressive flag, it's a future dream of ours," added McDonald. "It's also important to get the community together and get everyone painting."

The third annual Pride Party saw a record-breaking attendance compared to previous years.
