A 28-year-old man is dead after a crash on Highway 9.
According to Airdrie RCMP, the crash was at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 564 on Monday (Aug. 25) night.
"Initial investigation shows that a semi was southbound on Highway 9 approaching the intersection of Highway 564 when a Ford F-250 pickup truck, which was travelling eastbound, failed to either stop or proceed safely from the stop sign," wrote Airdrie RCMP in a news release.
The driver of the Ford, a Beiseker resident, was declared dead at the scene.
"The semi driver was not injured," added police.
The roads were closed as police investigated, but were reopened on Tuesday morning.
The investigation into the crash continues.
