West Central residents should know how to keep cool by now after a week of sweltering conditions around the region.
When we spoke with Environment Canada meteorologist Crawford Luke earlier in the week, he shared a fool proof way to beat the heat.
"If you are able to go for a quick jump in a lake, or a pool, that is always a fantastic way to cool off if you have that of access," said Luke, as a backyard pool would work too for anyone who hasn't taken it down.

A few local pools have already had to close for the summer with their seasonal staff, typically students, headed out for the fall.
The Eston Lions swimming pool is still open for the season, but only for one more day as fun activity on Friday afternoon will mark the end of the season with a hot dog lunch starting at 12:00 sponsored by the Eston Lions, games and prizes to follow from 1:30-3:30, the pool staying open until 6:00 PM.
If you aren't lucky enough to jump into a body of water, Luke had some other tips to help keep cool.
"Regardless of if it's a heat warning or not, you should be treating it as such... Take a few extra breaks than you normally would, especially mid-day when the sun is at its brightest, and the mid-afternoon when temperatures are their highest," recommended Luke for anyone working.
The next piece of advice applies to everyone.
"Staying hydrated with lots of water and fluids. Biggest thing is to not overdo it, take it easy. We are coming up to September, but this is hot temperatures for any time of the year, so listen to your body and take it easy as necessary," finished Luke, also adding it's extra important to check in with any loved ones who might be more vulnerable to the heat.
Compared to the rest of the week, temperatures are trending down on Friday with cloud cover entering the picture. Things will remain hot at around the +30 mark with the humidex making things feel even more summery, but then the weekend is looking at lows below 30 as the clouds take over.
Another warmup is in the cards for early next week as Sunday is already reading highs back above 30. The sun will stick around after that, but forecasters are predicting a slight drop from the recent heat to around the 25-degree mark on Tuesday and Wednesday.
