The Hanover School Division (HSD) board of trustees has chosen a new Chair and Vice-Chair for the 2025-2026 year.
At a board meeting on Sept. 2, Dallas Wiebe was elected Chair of the four trustees who let their names stand, and Jeff Friesen was elected Vice-Chair of the six trustees who let their names stand.

“I’m looking forward to the year,” Wiebe says.
Wiebe, who served as Vice-Chair last year, says he’s ready to hit the ground running and strengthen the division with this team for his fourth year on the board.
“Everybody on the board has a different perspective and I think that’s good.”
“We got a lot of great things on the agenda, and we’re excited to get back to work,” he says.
Jeff Friesen – Vice-Chair
Jeff Friesen, past board chair, was elected as vice-chair.
“I want to thank everybody for the (last) year. It was a tough year, and it was a lot of learning for me,” Friesen says.
Friesen explains his love of serving the community and his excitement to continue that journey.
"My advice to Dallas is remember you got a whole team beside you.”
Friesen notes Dallas’ strong leadership skills and how he thinks he will do very well as Chair.
The next HSD Board of Trustees election is in 2026.
