Some nostalgia for Canadian comedy lovers in Swift Current tonight.
A live show featuring the stars of Kenny vs Spenny is set for the Lyric Theatre.
"I wouldn't quite describe it as stand up," said Spencer Rice, AKA Spenny. "I would describe it as trying to cash in on a show we did years ago. By doing that we just go after each other. Mostly Kenny going after me."
Their show on CBC, Showcase, and other international channels wrapped up in 2010. It featured competitions between Kenny and Spenny in which the loser had to perform an act of humiliation.
The live performance mimics the feel of the TV show.
"This particular show is going to have a lot of videos and memes and ways in which Kenny attacks me," Spenny said. "It's kind of like the reality show continued without the competitions. It's just Kenny's lifelong ambition to make me look bad."
Doors open at 7:00 pm tonight and the show should run from 8:00 to 9:30 pm at the Lyric.
