It was a leap of faith and a test of courage that led Lisa to establish Little Luxuries House & Carpet Cleaning.

After 15 years in a career that was no longer fulfilling her, and just having gotten off a night shift and contemplating her future, she visited her brother for a morning cup of coffee and prayed.

"God, please reveal to me my strengths and the wisdom you created me for. Help me figure out which direction to go in. No sooner had I said this when a gentleman walked into my brother’s yard.”

She watched as the man spent 10 or 15 minutes disposing of dog droppings from the lawn. As it turned out, her brother had a monthly yard-cleaning service. That’s when she had her lightbulb moment.

"I thought, if this person was making that kind of money being out in the sunshine, then I could do it too," she says. Being a homeowner herself for over 20 years, basic lawn care was no stranger to her. She printed some business cards and soon had a summer's worth of work.

She enjoyed it, but when winter rolled around, she realized she didn’t want to do snow clearing. She proposed to her clients that they take her on as a home cleaner instead, and many jumped at the chance.

Little Luxuries was born!

That was more than 20 years ago. Now, Lisa is the full-time owner-operator of Little Luxuries House & Carpet Cleaning. She employs a dedicated team, enjoys glowing reviews from customers and is a repeat winner of Consumer Choice awards.

“I take a lot of pride in having a great team, and we’re very blessed with wonderful clients. We are trusted, experienced and knowledgeable,” Lisa says. Little Luxuries uses high-tech cleaning equipment and products that are safe for the home.

Little Luxuries has also become a one-stop shop for home cleaning services. They do carpet, upholstery, steam, cleaning, tile and grout. They’ve also added a water-fed extension pole cleaning system to leave your windows crystal clear.

It’s those client interactions that Lisa most enjoys about business ownership.

“They share a lot with you,” she reflects. “When you have a relationship with them and they get to know and trust you, it goes deeper than just cleaning someone’s home.”

Lisa's leap of faith, her act of courage, continues to be rewarded as her business grows and she establishes even more relationships with the people she serves. And there’s always room for more.
