It started with a passion for cooking and a dream. It’s become a journey of 25 years, and counting.

“In January we’re going to start celebrating our 25th year, and we’ll be doing a lot of exciting things,” says Danny Kleinsasser, owner and founder of Danny’s Whole Hog.

Back in 2001, it was a simple operation. Kleinsasser had 25 barbecues, and he and his staff would train customers on how to roast a pig for their corporate get-together or family event. People loved it. They also had suggestions to make the business even better.

For months, the Steinbach community has been rallying behind Tasha Wiese as she recovers from a life-changing amputation and ongoing health challenges.  

The road has been long, but Tasha continues to draw strength from the love and support of her family, and even from her four-legged companion. 

“We have an 80 per cent success rate with our students earning jobs in the trade and moving forward in their occupation.” 

Winnipeg Industrial Skills Training Centre is a nonprofit welding and metal fabrication learning centre. As of October 2025, the organization will have been active for 43 years, providing trade training to Manitobans who are either underemployed, part of an unstable occupation, doing seasonal work, or experiencing chronic layoffs.

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in partnership with the National Hockey League, has announced its full 82-game schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 regular season.

The Jets begin the season at home, welcoming the Dallas Stars to Canada Life Centre on Thursday, Oct. 9, in a rematch of their second-round series from the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They will then face the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, Oct. 11, before hitting the road to play the New York Islanders at UBS Arena on Monday, Oct. 13.
