The smell of sizzling hot dogs filled the air around the Lions Prairie Manor this past Friday, with Lions Club members and volunteers coming together for Lions Prairie Manor Residents.

People came through during the lunch period between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., purchasing a jumbo hot dog, chips, a drink, and a bakery cookie for $10, with proceeds going directly towards the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation.

Volunteers were bundled up and dressed for the weather, but were neither swayed or deterred from their goal.

Corrine Pratt, Recreation Manager of the Lions Prairie Manor, shared, "We may not have the best weather, but we have the best spirit," a nod to the cool winds blowing through the area during the lunch period.

She went on to add, however, "The Lions Prairie Manor foundation is essential to the care home, as they provide funds for the niceties. They help us build decks, pay for our flowers every year, provide furniture for the residents, and support the recreation department to help keep our residents active, healthy, and engaged."

Pratt noted that they had three hundred hot dogs that they were ready to sell and thanked everyone who came out to help support the Prairie Manor Foundation and their fundraising efforts, be it through volunteering or buying a lunch.
