Children's snuggly little stuffed animals came to life for a chance to entertain the kids who love them.
Debbie Mitzner and Nicole Denee hosted their annual Teddy Bear Picnic at Kinsmen Park on Sept. 6.
Life-sized teddy bears played cornhole with children, danced, and high-fived families. The event also featured a small market and a teddy bear repair station.
Children enjoyed music and played a game of Hot Potato, passing around a teddy bear.
"Teddies are universal. Everybody knows the teddy," said Bonnie Muir, who was conducting the repairs. She returned as the teddy bear sewist for the fourth time, but has been doing sewing repairs for more than 35 years.
She noted that the most common repairs in children's stuffed animals are torn seams.
Teddy bears, although small, remain in memories well after childhood.
"I had quite the collection," Muir said, reflecting on her own childhood stuffed animals, two of which were named Penny Bear and Smoky.
Muir plans on continuing her role at the Teddy Bear Picnic, helping restore children's stuffed friends to as good as new.
