Local businesses serve as the Heart of Our Community, and now residents are given the chance to nominate their favourites.
The fourth quadrant of the Heart of Our Community campaign began on Sept. 1 and runs until Nov. 30, with residents being able to nominate a local business that deserves recognition for its service in the community.
"Unlike major online retailers, these businesses actively invest in our community," said Amber Link, board chair of Community Futures Wild Rose, who put on the event. Let’s unite to celebrate and support those who enhance our community life."
The nominations are open to residents in Chestermere, Langdon, Dalemead, Carseland, and the surrounding area.
"Anyone, whether a resident or a fellow business, can submit a nomination," added Link.
According to Community Futures Wild Rose, the initiative serves as a powerful reminder of how crucial small, local businesses are in rural communities.
"Without them, we lose more than just jobs and services, but the very spirit that keeps our communities thriving."
You can nominate a local business by visiting the Community Futures Wild Rose website.
